David Bowie : the King of androgyny
Biography :
Teenager, David Robert Jones, his real name, follows lessons of theater and mime, while learning to play diverse instruments. Throughout its career, Bowie will mix confidentially these two genres, creating characters for theatricalize its music. His route begins in 1965, its first success will be "Space Oddity" in 69. The hatching of a major artist arises with "Hunky Dory " in 1971, introducing the glam-rock movement and prefiguring the incredible breaker "Ziggy Stardust", which revisits the rock gallantly. The personality of his creation will be so crushing as Bowie will terminate it in 1973 and will dash into new musical perspectives: the soul disco "Station to Station", the prefiguration of the new wave with the famous Berlin trilogy ('"Low" and "Heroes", 1977). The 80s will be synonymic of a big vacuous passage on the musical plan (even if Bowie will know certain success with the album "Scary Monsters", the criticisms will not be clement to him). Meanwhile, he multiplies the roles in the cinema ("Furyo"). His big return arises with the 90s ("Outside") and will not contradict itself then, marking an artistic road in the longevity and in the exceptional quality.

By inventing the glam-rock, Bowie invented his character in the pronounced sexual ambiguity, by dyeing itself hair in red, abusing the make-up and the extravagant clothing dresses.
